Okaayyyy sooo It’s been a while since I wrote a blog. Wow ladies and gents are you ready for a story I have for you. Pass few classes we have had  guest speakers come in and tell us about folktale and their stories and how they’ve been told to them. So we recently learned more about Kenyan folktales and how unique they are from other folktales and I say this because kenyan folktales makes it seem like you where there it’s very realistic in a way that makes your imagination go wild. The uniqueness about kenyan folktale is that most of the time it follows through with a song which is very traditional  and really makes the story come alive. For instance when Dr. Ochieng’ K’Olewe told wonderful stories to the class. One being about the money and the shark story which is one of my favorites because the shark took the monkey as a fool and he was know fool, and the ending made me laugh the most. Hey y’all let me just start off by saying I don’t even know where to start.  Before  writing this I watched the music video sonne by Rammstein and I was so lost until I saw this giant female enter the room looking like Snow White. First thing that came to thought was omg she’s so huge lol but I forgot that cause she’s surrounded by 7 dwarfs. 😂😭 Anyway you guys should check out the video and comment your thoughts. However,  I did like how they switched the story around by making Snow White seem evil and mean towards the dwarfs. And the twist they had when they over dosed her with gold 🧐 im not sure 🤔 but they placed her body in a glass coffin and put her in the top of a hill with an old tree that has one apple hanging off. In this episode they had a Little red riding hood theme which made me view the whole story differently. Opened my eyes and made me realize that the story doesn’t have to be the same even if it’s old. Many people remake old versions of folk and fairy tales and sometimes they come out better. Personally I believe that this episode was cool and very educational because the little girl that played little red riding hood wasn’t as gulliable as the others she was smart about making decisions and didn’t  believe just anything but her own instincts. For example, the part where Johnny gets to the forest before Hood and changes the signs to get to granny’s house. Sooo during the school week I was given the question “how would you define a folk and fairytale ?” Without using the internet. And as you know I recently asked myself that question but stated different and now here we are....ME thinking...YOU waiting...to read what something educational, yet entertaining you have came to the wrong blog lol joking 🙃 ANYWHO🗣 let’s forward in time to where I was thinking  to myself 🤔about what a folk and fairytale could be ? Well as you can tell I started Off wrong because off the back you think ohh a folk tale is story that has been remodeled and a fairytale, well when I think of fairytale first thing that comes to mind is the words  MAGIC!! Folk and fairy tales, what’s the difference? Idk yet, but I do know that, “The Little Red Robin Hood” being one of the all times movies that many people love, and all the other remakes of it ( am I giving it too much credit?). How good was the movie to you? Any who, enough with the questions!! I bet you didn’t know that “The Little Red Robin Hood” is indeed a European fairytale.   But my question is, what inspired Charles Perrault to have come up with the idea of a young girl traveling to go see her grandmother who is unfortunately eaten by a wolf before she could even get to her? Only traveling without the knowledge that she will be eaten next when she arrives. This fairytale creates so much wonder for me. For instance, just thinking about it like how do you not tell that a wolf is dressed up as your grandmother? Are you blind or you just can’t see. Or what gave the wolf the idea to impersonate an old lady just to eat the granddaughter? That question “blows me away” that phrase...
